Jell-O and Cool Whip Concoctions
3 Jell-O Recipes

Orange Fruit Salad

2 large cans peaches
2 large cans pears
2 large cans pineapple chunks
1 6-oz package Orange Jell-O

Drain the juice and dice fruit.  Sprinkle with 1 6-oz package orange Jell-O (do not dissolve in water.)  Let set 3 hours or overnight.  Add one or two 8-oz cartons of Cool Whip and one or two 8-oz cartons of sour cream.  We never stop with just a few cans.  With nine children we are always adding something extra to the mix and it always comes out delicious even if we have to guess how much Cool Whip and Sour Cream would be perfect!

Cherry Gelatin Squares
Plan ahead…needs to chill

2 6oz cherry Jell-O
3 cups boiling water
2 cans cherry pie filling
2 ½ cups lemon-lime soda, chilled
cool whip

In a bowl, dissolve gelatin in water.  Stir in pie filling.  Mix well.  Slowly stir in soda (mixture will foam).  Pour into a pan.  Cover and refrigerate until firm.  Cut into squares.  Top with Cool Whip.

Fruit Cheese Salad

2 3 oz pkg flavored gelatin
2 16 oz carton cottage cheese
2 8 oz carton Cool Whip
4 cups fresh or well drained fruit

Stirring constantly, sift gelatin into the cottage cheese.  Fold in the desert topping.  Shape half the mixture into a circle on a serving plate.  Cover with ½ of the fruit.  Spread with the balance of the cheese mixture and cover with the remaining fruit.  Chill.

Kitchen Chaos Index
References and Resource Recommendations

Managing a kitchen in a large family can be a pretty exhausting task.  It certainly isn't something that can take care of itself!  With that in mind I am always looking for ways to make the kitchen experience easier, more enjoyable, or just plain manageable.  Mega cooking, recipes, teaching children how to cook, organizing the kitchen are just some of the topics addressed in my Kitchen Chaos series.  This index contains the entire series, not just the recipes.

Kitchen Chaos Individual Recipe Index

I have posted more than one recipe on each of my cooking pages.  For your convenience I have submitted this individual index so you can find which recipe is on which page.  I hope you enjoy them.  Remember that my recipes are altered to be for a family of twelve.  If your family is smaller, many of the recipes can be prepared as is and then divided and frozen for additional meals during stressful times.  This index is just for listing the recipes and does not include the other kitchen and cooking articles.
